Good piece and agree on the theme. Curious to hear how you think this framework plays out for “pay per usage models” such as Twilio — on the one hand I’m sure a similar case can be made if the churn is high, in which case perhaps you should charge a higher upfront cost. On the other hand, you can often have outliers that make the entire model worthwhile, similar to a VC portfolio
